A while ago I got into making cigar box guitars. Got some great starter info from Cigar Box Nation and Shane Speal and such. My good friend Tony liked the sound so much that he ordered one. This is the one I made for him. Just loads of fun. Crappy video, but I'm proud of the instrument.

Another piece for "The Deserter". Really looking forward to this film. And since it's spring I needed a new walking cane for my loot expeditions. Carved this one out of a branch from the whatever-tree. Reaches just up to my armpit. And also, I got a really pretty antique muzzleloader for my birthday. Needed a powderhorn to accompany it on the wall, but I'm too miserly to fork out any dough. Read that horns/flasks could be made out of wood, just as long as it's waterproofed. Wanted it to look like folksy peasant-work from the 18th century. Slapped this together. Haven't tried it with powder yet, but there's no reason it shouldn't work.
Been intensely busy for quite some time. The webpage looked totally defunct for a while due to me messing up while trying to help me mum-in-law with hers. Anyhow, it's back to the normal lulling kind of grind.
Concept art for upcoming indie-film "The Deserter". ... Or atleast concept art for "The End Times", upcoming indie fantasy film by director Simo Paulakoski.
"When can not afford brand merchandise, so proudly present honorable company BFP & the PIP-LAD 2616(tm), when real deal is too good(tm). Great for winning and look pretty elephant." So the deal in question was "I'm bored, I've got zero budget, the recycling bin is full. Let's do something." It's made mostly from empty tape rolls, beer cartonnage, and an ice cream cup. detailing with a few parts from a broken stereo, glass screen from an old 35mm film wiever thingie that I picked up for like two bucks years ago, and more crap from the bin. It became this. Might do some more fiddling about with details, and get a decent photo shoot some day. I built the slot beneath the screen to fit any standard like credit card thing. That is my subway card.
I guess it would be alot simpler to just name posts after dates or something. These puns just keep pushing through, and it's not like they're even clever or funny. Stupidness.
Anyhow, copper wire. Mentioned before . Funny. Meditative. I made this partially out of store bought copper wire, and partially with the stuff from skinned electrical cord. If you wanna try this out, for the first time, I sincerely recommend purchasing a pair of flush cutters. ... And other awful puns.
Never be this blog an accurate measure of my creative output. From here I may look rather idling, while back in the "real world" where the voices are "imaginary" and people are "persons", I'm quite backed up with stuff to show and show off. Truth is I'm busy with school and life in general. I make stuff constantly, but can't be arsed to promote meself as often as I should, or would. I'll take it as slow as I need. So for Christmas last year I came unto a bunch of empty paint thinner cans. Knocking and wobbling on the tin I decided to try something new. Me family got tin animals. I sat up late for a few nights and made paper templates. Then it was straight forward with snips and files. Easy-peasy and quite enjoyable. Cat is, including tail, roughly 10 cm, or 4", tall. Ball-o-yarn be scruff from lathe. Horsie lost an ear due to angle grinder incident. Fox is standing on a box. Moss covered lid comes off hollowed trunk. It is a secret to everybody. |
